Daylite with another dope single and smooth banger Bother Nobody
The multidimensional artist Daylite is catering to the low key party goers and smokers that lean up against the wall but really are ready to dance, with her new song Bother Nobody. Another banger produced by VisTheKid, recorded and mixed by the San Fransisco legend DJ Pause. Bother Nobody showcases Daylite's lyrical ability and her affinity to the old school rap of the 90's and 80's. As soon as the beat drops she begins enchanting us as she proclaims herself 'The funky mistress' and by the end we're all chanting "tick tock it don't stop". It's the perfect dose of nostalgia while still mixing new school with the original. The sounds of bass and horns by VisTheKid continues to give us a jazzy feel which works perfectly as he amps up the sound during the chorus. Smokers and Curren$y fans will fall in love with this song as Daylite reminds us of why artists like Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi and Big Sean dominated the underground during the early 2010's. Something about her style reminds us of those times. Even in her party/smokers anthem she still manages to sprinkle in some uplifting and encouraging message in her song as the chorus highlights she just want to feel free to exist and have fun while still being herself.
Daylite will be releasing a music video for Bother Nobody 6/9/2023 shot and edited by Gus Got Flicks. The video showcases a night out with her homies, turned up on a party bus but really not trying to bother nobody. Subscribe to her YouTube DayliteRaps to catch all of her new releases.
Daylite was raised in Vallejo CA in a huge family of 8 Black Belts. Her first job was working at her families Black owned Tae Kwon Do School. She took an early interest in art with plenty of time on her hands due to being Home Schooled. During homeschool Daylite's Mother had her reading African and African American history books for English class and History. This heavily influenced Daylite's world view and you can hear those sentiments reflected in her music. She wrote poetry and songs as a young child and performed at talent shows, musical plays and open mic's for years before ever recording a rap. At 18 Daylite went by Deezy and dropped a mixtape titled The Experiment Vol 1. After a few years in a group and then a long hiatus, Daylite reemerged in 2018 dropping her first digital release and first album titled The Mass Education of Daylite. Her new sound of slapping beats and deeper content would continue to be a common thread in all of the releases that would follow. Her second album Omni (05/2020) would be an upgrade to the same style of the former, with more features, unique producers, and better sound quality. Her Stand out tracks on that album would be Han Solo, Gate Keeper, Self-Control, and Tuition. The best thing about diving into her music catalog is you can clearly hear the growth and exponential potential of this artists trajectory. Her vulnerable lyrics are relatable and each song's subject matter fit a different mood. Daylite grew up listening to everything from Sade and Lauryn Hill to Mac Dre and E-40, her current favorite artists are Sa-Roc, Rapsody, Isaiah Rashad, Kendrick Lamar, and Dreezy. Her flow is very smooth and you can hear the Bay Area influence in her delivery and production selection, however her content and subject matter is unique and tasteful. It's deep without sounding preachy. It has the vibe of both ratchet and woke, or spiritual and hyphy and it's a fun experience.
